Pupil Mentoring
We use a mentoring system to help track progress and attainment for all pupils in Key Stages 1 & 2.
Each child has their learning journey in Reading, Writing and Maths mapped so that they have targets to meet at the end of the year. See the sample 'Progress and Attainment Targets' grid below.
Their learning is assessed at the end of each half term and the class teacher will hold an individual 15 minute meeting with each child to review progress and set targets for the next half term.
A half-termly report is produced which uses a traffic light (Red for danger, Yellow for warning, Green for good) system to rate children in all areas of school life; see the blank 'Sample Pupil Profile' document below. This is sent home for parents, one copy to keep, one to sign and return.
These reports can form the basis of discussion at Parents Evening, but if you wish to discuss your child's progress at any time, do contact your child's teacher.
